The First 10 Minutes
- Minute 1-2: Open a window or curtain. Let fresh air and natural light set the tone.
- Minute 3-5: Stretch overhead, then side-to-side. Move slowly and breathe through the nose.
- Minute 6-8: Sip warm water from your favorite cup. Notice temperature, taste, and breath.
- Minute 9-10: Place one hand on your chest and choose one intention: "steady", "kind", or "curious".
Script: "Today I begin softly. I will move through this day with gentle awareness."
Three Morning Prompts
1) What am I grateful for today?
Example: "Warm sunlight on my desk."
2) What would make today feel gentle?
Example: "Taking one slow tea break at noon."
3) One small thing I'll notice
Example: "The color of the sky at 8:00."
Creating a Ritual Container
- Time: Keep it realistic. Even 6 minutes can anchor your day.
- Space: Use the same chair, same corner, or same window.
- Objects: Keep one cup, one notebook, one pen ready each night.
- Consistency metric: days practiced / 7 x 100%. Example: 4/7 x 100% = 57%.
